Dr. Ruthanne Thomas, senior associate vice president for research and professor of chemistry, is retiring from UNT after serving for 32 years in the Department of Chemistry and Office for Research and Economic Development. In this time she has worn many hats — as teacher, department chair, administrative leader, and researcher — including the literal hard hat used to survey the construction site of the (then) new chemistry building during her years as chemistry chair.
