• Sponsored by the State of Texas
• Typically offered every other year
• Designed to support basic research in several targeted research areas for up to 24 months for investigators from Texas colleges and universities. 
• Approximately $16.4 M is available for the 2010/2011 biennium
• Pre-proposals are required
