Vice President for Research and Economic Development

Dr. Thomas McCoy

The Office of Research supports new knowledge and its dissemination by assisting faculty in their research, scholarly, and creative activities.

Research Development

Increase research funding success by learning the information and skills to develop effective proposals and build successful partnerships.  Get help applying for grants, finding research collaborators, exploring funding options, and assessing proposals.

Research Services

Get assistance with the grant application process for projects funded by external sources such as government agencies, non-for-profit organizations, and for-profit companies.

Intramural Funding

Get funding for your research, scholarly, and creative projects at all stages of your academic career. We grant seed money, facilitate preliminary research, provide funds for travel and equipment, and offer various special programs.

Technology Transfer and Economic Development

Let us help you manage the technology transfer process for all patent, trademark, and copyright matters relating to the identification, protection, and commercialization of faculty works and inventions. We also implement UNT's intellectual property policy and develop and manage Discovery Park.
