AERI Welcomes New Leadership and Recognizes Outstanding Service
AERI recently celebrated its annual Welcome Back event, marking an exciting transition
in leadership as Dr. Ed Mager assumed the role of AERI Director following Dr. Amie Lund’s more than five years of dedicated service as director.
During the celebration, AERI honored Dr. Lund with the AERI Distinguished Leadership Award in recognition of her exceptional leadership and outstanding service. Under her direction, AERI continued to advance its mission and foster a culture of collaboration, research, and lasting excellence throughout the community.
AERI also recognized two recipients of its annual AERI Service Award. Marti Lathrop was honored for her exceptional dedication, unwavering commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond in support of UNT, AERI, and the Elm Fork Education Center. Philip Boyd, representing the Dixon Water Foundation, was recognized for his outstanding service and collaborative spirit, as well as his dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships with UNT and AERI that strengthen environmental research and education and support the AERI Advisory Board.
The event provided an opportunity for the AERI community to celebrate these accomplishments, recognize the contributions of its members and partners, and welcome its new leadership.
