The Biodiscovery Institute (BDI) at the University of North Texas brings together researchers across biology, chemistry, engineering, and data science to accelerate discovery in the life sciences. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and shared research infrastructure, BDI drives innovation that supports health, food security, and energy solutions.

Established as an interdisciplinary research hub within UNT’s Division of Research and Innovation, BDI fosters collaboration across departments
and colleges. By co-locating investigators and advanced instrumentation, the institute promotes idea exchange, multi-investigator projects, and the development of competitive research programs.
BDI supports research from fundamental biological discovery to translational and applied biotechnology development.
