Externally Funded Graduate Award

The Division of Research Externally Funded Graduate Award is available to the graduate students pursuing any major at the University of North Texas. The awarded is funded through the Division of Research and Innovation.

Eligibility Criteria/ Award Guidelines:


To be eligible, an applicant:
  • Should be a current graduate student pursuing any major at the university.
  • Should have a minimum GPA of 3.00
  • Should provide evidence of guaranteed support through a stipend, fellowship, grant, or other sources in the total amount equal to or greater than $5,000 from one or more organizations outside the University of North Texas.
How to Apply:
  • An applicant should submit the application via InfoReady.
  • Documentation of guaranteed fellowship, grant, or stipend from the external organization(s) should be included in the InfoReady Portal.
  • Please include the Department Chair's name and email.
  • For Fulbright candidates, please also include the UNT Fullbring Coordinator
Review Process:
  • Reviews will be ongoing until funding capacity is met every academic year.
  • Determination will be made on an individual basis, taking into consideration the external funding agreement/contract.
Value
  • Awards up to $5,000 to cover tuition and fees. Renewable on a yearly basis for up to 3 years.
