Imelda is responsible for following duties:
- Performs research animal husbandry on daily basis
- Assists researchers in their study with the utmost quality care.
- Maintains animal care record and animal room information and communicates laboratory conditions to appropriate staff.
- Assists and performs veterinary procedures directed by attending veterinarian.
- Provides basic training to all personnel working with laboratory animals.
- Review all live-vertebrae animals purchase at University of North Texas
- Maintaining the vivarium up to the required standard and inspections.
- Serves as a voting member in the UNT IACUC
