NSF Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMSP) Tool ReleasedThe National Science Foundation (NSF) released NSF 26-202 (Supplement 2) to outline policy changes that have been implemented to the PAPPG 24-1. Starting April 27, 2026, the Data Management and Sharing Plan required to be submitted with all NSF proposals changed formats, from a PDF upload to a web form in Research.gov. The DMSP is now collected through a web form that is built directly into Research.gov. The web form will be generated based on the primary Directorate of the proposal selected at the time of proposal creation. |

NSF Releases Supplement 1 (NSF 26-200) and Supplement 2 (NSF 26-202) to PAPPG 24-1NSF Update 1 - NSF 26-200 (Effective Dec. 8, 2025) This supplement revises several sections of PAPPG 24-1 to reflect federal priorities and statutory requirements. NSF Update 2 - NSF 26-202 (Effective Jan. 22, 2026) This notice supersedes relevant sections of PAPPG 24-1 and updates NSF's reporting and public access requirements. The Research.gov tool referred to in the Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMSP) section of the PAPPG Supplement 2 Policy Notice will be released on April 27, 2026. Proposals submitted before that date should continue preparing the DSMP as a PDF upload. Key PF5 Requirements: NIH Foreign Subaward Policy ChangePer NIH Notice NOT-OD-25-104 and NOT-OD-25-155, NIH no longer accepts applications that request funds for foreign components using the traditional subaward structure. To support international research collaborations, NIH has released a new PF5 activity code for submitting multi-component applications to support the new application and award structure for applications that request funding for foreign organizations. Additional details on the NIH Collaborative International Research Project (PF5) mechanism, including the new solicitation, PA-26-002, can be found here: https://grants.nih.gov/funding/activity-codes/PF5 Given that this new structure is a Multi-Project application, alternate timelines and internal deadlines are set for PF5 application submissions and GCS Requests should be submitted at least 8-12 weeks in advance of your planned submission if you are planning a NIH application with a funded Foreign Component/Organization. |
