Occupational Health and Safety for Animal Workers

Occupational Health and Safety for Animal Workers

The IACUC is tasked with ensuring that those working with animals at UNT participate in the University of North Texas Occupational Health and Safety Program, which provides access to educational resources and occupational health services to personnel at risk of exposure to animals (or their tissues, body fluids, or wastes) and/or other infectious biohazards.

Participation in the UNT Occupational Health and Safety Program requires the annual submission of a Medical Health History Questionnaire, including the date of last Tetanus immunization, for review by a University Physician.  Tetanus Immunizations within the last 10 years are a requirement for those participating in animal research at UNT.
