All UNT researchers are invited to participate in our Building the Research Enterprise and Knowledge Series (BREAKS) every third Thursday of the month. Each session will be led by a topic expert in the field in order to elevate best practices, while answering some of the most frequently asked questions by UNT researchers related to the topic. These hour-long discussions are a comfortable conversation where no question is too basic, too simple, or too complicated.     Topic:  In this research breaks discussion we will provide information on the National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program. In addition, UNT site director, Dr. Lee Slaughter of REU programs will share his expertise and tips on how to run a successful REU program. This session is geared towards UNT faculty mentors.    Presenters: Dr. Aaron Roberts, Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation & Dr. LeGrande Slaughter, Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry (current REU site Director)
 
 
 
 
 
 
Research on Tap is a monthly speaker series bringing UNT researchers to the Armadillo Ale Works taproom to give micro-talks on timely and interesting topics. Come hear about exciting research and stick around for beverages and lively discussion with colleagues and friends.   Topic: Where’s My Stuff?  DFW Supply Chains, Logistics, and Research   Guest Speaker: Dr. Terry Pohlen, Professor of Logistics at the G. Brint Ryan College of Business, University of North Texas   Description: This micro-talk will address the supply chain issues impacting the availability of products ranging from cars to grocery items, the importance of logistics to the DFW region, and the ongoing research to increase supply chain resiliency through the use of drones, robots, and autonomous vehicles.
