Research BREAKS- CORE Research Facilities
All UNT researchers are invited to participate in our Building the Research Enterprise and Knowledge Series (BREAKS) the first Thursday of the month. Each session will be led by a topic expert in the field in order to elevate best practices, while answering some of the most frequently asked questions by UNT researchers related to the topic. These hour-long discussions are a comfortable conversation where no question is too basic, too simple, or too complicated.   Topic This session is for faculty, student, and staff interested in using our shared research facilities, CORES. Meet with leaders of each research facility and learn how to partner with constituents to conduct high-level solution-based research in crucial areas.   Guest Speakers Ana Alonso, Director of BioAnalytical Research Facility  Lee Hughes, Faculty Director of Genomics Research Facility Jianchao "J.C." Research on Tap - Hosted by Research and Innovation
Research on Tap is a monthly speaker series bringing UNT researchers to give micro-talks on timely and interesting topics. Come hear about exciting research and stick around for beverages and lively discussion with colleagues and friends.   Topic: "Sonidos del Sur/Sounds of the South: Tex-Mex and Norteño Music Cultures."   Guest Speaker: Dr. Catherine Ragland, associate professor of Ethnomusicology, College of Music Description: Dr. Ragland's research and scholarship focus on US-Mexico border music, rurality, and the politics of identity, memory and place, music and immigration/migration and gender. She has conducted research throughout Texas and the American Southwest, in Northern and Central Mexico, and Northern Spain.   Facebook Live Link: https://www.facebook.com/UNTResearch
